Dominic Thiem ranked world number 3 has claimed the US Open 2020 after beating Alexander Zverev in a historic final. On September 13, 2020, in Arthur Ashe Stadium in a nervy final, Dominic Thiem won his first grand slam title in the year where every event is itself historic. Young Dominic Thiem Became the first male tennis player born in the 1990s to win a grand slam. The new US Open champion was born on 3rd September 1993.

Novak in frustration of losing a point tossed a ball out of his pocket that hit a judge on the throat and was disqualified according to the rules.
